ZTE has partnered with MTN Nigeria to build GSM/UMTS networks in Nigeria.
As part of the contract, ZTE would help MTN Nigeria modernize and expand its mobile network in two of the country's most economically developed regions (including 8 states) by providing its innovative SDR-based Uni-RAN solution.
The ZTE Uni-RAN solution meets primary needs while cutting-down total cost of ownership and protecting customer's investment for the future technologies. MTN is the largest multinational telecom operator in Middle East and Africa region by subscriber, providing mobile communication service to more than 150 million people in 22 countries. MTN Nigeria has more than 45 million subscribers and is the largest operating company in the MTN Group.
