WAP: Are You Ready?

  • Select "Menu"
  • Scroll down to the
    "Services" menu (Menu 10)
  • Press the Navi (TM) Roller and
    select the "Settings" option.
  • Select "Connection
    Settings"
  • Select "Set 1"
    ("Set 2" if you are adding a second setting)
  • Press "Options" and
    select "Edit"
  • Homepage: Type in the
    URL address of the homepage you want to access
  • Connection Type: Choose
    "Continuous".
  • Connection Security:
    Select "Off"
  • Bearer: Select
    "data"
  • Dial-up Number: Type
    the number specified by the WAP service provider or

    the dial-up number of an ISP
  • IP Address: Type the IP
    number of the WAP gateway/server you are accessing
  • Authentication Type:
    Choose "Normal" unless specified by your service

    provider to choose "Secure"
  • Data Call Type: Select
    "Analogue"
  • Data Call Speed: Choose
    "Autobauding"
  • User Name: Type the
    user name provided by mobile operator or your ISP
  • Password: Type password
    provided by mobile operator or your ISP
  • Press "Back" to
    reach the Connection Settings Menu. The "Set" you
    would

    have configured would be highlighted. Press
    "options" and "Activate" this

    set.
  • Press Back and come to the
    Service Options Menu. Select "HOME" for

    accessing the WAP site you have just configured.

Note: The above
configurations are only to be done once, i.e., the first time
that you are configuring the settings. Each time you access the
WAP site you need to repeat only step 12 & 13.

WAP Profile setting:

  • Scroll to "WAP
    Services", press "Yes"
  • Scroll to "WAP
    Settings", press "Yes"
  • Scroll to the WAP profile
    whose access type you want to edit. Press "Yes"
  • Scroll to Access Type, press
    "Yes", Always ask, press "Yes"

If you want to be asked which
access type to use each time you start the browser, select
"On". Otherwise select "Off"

  • Press "Yes"
  • Select either "GSM
    Data" or "SMS" to be the access type you want
    to use with this WAP profile

GSM Data Connection setting:

  • Scroll to WAP Services, press
    "Yes", WAP settings, press "Yes"
  • Scroll to the WAP profile for
    which you want to use a GSM Data Connection and press
    "Yes"
  • Scroll to "Gateway",
    press "Yes", "User ID", press
    "Yes"
  • Enter the User ID to your
    gateway and press "Yes"
  • Scroll to "Password"
    and press "Yes"
  • Enter the Password to the
    gateway and press "Yes"
  • Scroll to "Data
    Address" and press "Yes"
  • Enter the IP address to your
    gateway and press "Yes"

If IP number is say 123.4.67.901,
you will have to enter 123.004.067.901, prefixing "0s"
in case of groups consisting of less than three numerals.

  • Press "No"
  • Scroll to "GSM Data"
    and press "Yes"
  • Scroll to "Phone
    Number" and press "Yes"
  • Enter the phone number you
    should use with your GSM Data connection and press
    "Yes"
  • Scroll to "User ID"
    and press "Yes"
  • Enter the User ID to your GSM
    Data connection or ISP connection and press "Yes"
  • Scroll to "Password"
    and press "Yes"
  • Enter the Password to your GSM
    Data connection or ISP connection and press "Yes"
  • Scroll to Data Type and press
    "Yes"
  • Select whether you want to use
    Analogue or ISDN connection
  • Scroll to "Inactive
    Timeout" and enter how many seconds the browser should
    remain idle while connected before it asks you to remain
    either connected or if it should be disconnected.

    Press "Yes"
