TRAI orders for 100 pay or free TV channels for Rs 153/month: Report

The TV viewers are in for a treat as the new order issues by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India( TRAI) has instructed that the users now can view 100 pay or free channels by paying just Rs 153.40 per month (including GST). According to TRAI, for the TV viewers, whether cable or direct to home (DTH), this new system will begin on February 1 as they will be able to choose 100 channels before 31^st January--- India Business News reports.

As per TRAI, the report states that the base pack does not include high definition (HD) channels. The report notes that the consumers should clear their doubts about the HD and Non-HD packs with their service providers or they can call up 011-23237922 (AK Bhardwaj) and 011-23220209 (Arvind Kumar) or sending an e-mail to advbcs-2@trai.gov.in or arvind@gov.in for the same.

Furthermore, TRAI has taken another key decision which is restricting the maximum price of a channel to Rs 19 per month.
