Teracom partners BSNL to promote tablets

Teracom has joined hands with BSNL for providing low cost tablets along with BSNL 3G services.

The company aims to penetrate the rural market of India by providing services like education and medical facilities on Teracom tablet.

Teracom, the Goa based Indian telecom equipment manufacturer has recently launched 3 models of tablets ranging from Rs 3,999 to Rs 10,999 under their popular brand, Lofty.

Teracom in association with BSNL has come up with three variants of Tablet PC. The Premium Model TZ100 comes with built in SIM card slot up to 7.2 Mbps, 7 inches multitouch capacitive screen with 1024 x600 resolutions and is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The product comes with 4200 mAH powerful battery which offers a long stand by support A Cortex A9 Processor of 1GHz with internal storage of 4 GB along with an expandable slot of 32 GB provides hi-speed browsing experience to the users.

Dual camera with 3MP on back side with flash and 0.3 MP on the front face of the Tab has been provided for video calls.

The Mid level Model TZ200 offers a 7 inches multi-touch capacitive screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3000 mAH Battery, 4 GB internal storage (expandable up to 32 GB) front camera and Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It supports Teracom's own 3G data cards, and also integrates with various other data cards to avail 3G services.

The entry level Tablet TZ300 is offers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a power full 3000 mAH battery.

According to RK Upadhyay, chairman & managing director, BSNL today announced the reverse bundling of Lofty Tab with BSNL. The company promises attractive data offerings along with a free BSNL SIM.

He further said “The bundling combination of Lofty Tab with BSNL is certain to delight the customers and will increase the penetration of broadband.”

Teracom's 3G data cards are already available in the market with the attractive data plans of BSNL. To cater the after sales services Teracom has opened more than 120 service centres in phase 1 and very soon the count will touch a figure of 500 marks.

The company has a decade long association with BSNL having supplied large quantities of optical fiber cable, broadband modems, and 3G dongles. Teracom has 6 manufacturing locations spread over Goa and Pantnagar and has an turnover in excess of Rs 800 crores.
