Samsung unveils Galaxy Core 2 at Rs 11,900

Samsung Electronics has launched Samsung Galaxy CORE 2, a successor to Galaxy Core, which is priced at Rs 11,900.

Equipped with a 4.5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) LCD capacitive touch screen display,  it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung TouchWiz Essence UI.

It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera.

The camera has eight innovative modes which give more options and flexibility to capture favorite moments, a statement said.

The device features dual SIM support, has 3G HSPA+ connectivity, 768MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage with expansion slot and 2000 mAh battery. It is available in black and white colors.

The company is likely to launch Samsung Galaxy Alpha with a metal exterior on August 13 and it will be Samsung’s first full-metal smartphone to take on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6.
