New Update

Focus, quality, and brand recall have enabled this IT consulting and services
company through its services and co-product development activities to record a
total business of Rs 406 crore from the telecom industry. Infosys’ revenues
from the telecom vertical segment grew in absolute terms by 12.5 percent of the
total Infosys turnover of Rs 2,603.6 crore. In FY 2000-01, it had a turnover of
Rs 360.6 crore. Technology-wise, the proprietary telecom systems accounted for 2
percent of its revenues, as compared to 5.1 percent during the previous year.
This was mainly due to the overall slowdown in the global telecom industry.
