Nokia launches Urdu language mobiles

Nokia has launched its 114 feature phone, a low-cost phone with Urdu language capability in the country for Rs 2, 579. The Nokia 114, which will benefit over 15 crore Urdu speaking people in India.

The new device phone comes with dual-SIM compatibility.

The phone has a VGA camera, which is also capable of shooting videos and offers microSD card slot with up to 32GB of expandable memory limit.

The device will support talk time of up to 10.5 hours on 2G network, allow internet browsing, FM radio and video streaminga.

The company is the first company to introduce regional language content in 11 Indian languages since 2008- Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Bengali, Odiya, Assamese, Punjabi, and Marathi, according to the company.

It is also the first company to introduce an in house app called Akshar for the Asha Touch range of affordable smartphones. Akshar supports 11 Indian languages and allows consumers to interact in their local language.

The company will be launching it pan India but its focus will be five markets like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

The new device is available across stores now.

The new device was launched by Kapil Sibal, minister of communications and information technology along with P. Balaji, MD,Nokia India in Delhi.
