The mobile VoIP market is still a slow phenomenon. The reason is that carriers who have launched LTE have considered dual mode phones. And it is only the data part which utilizes LTE in developed nations and voice is still carried on certain switches. Hence to totally host VoIP on mobile is still a couple of years away. For the Indian market it may even be much later than that.

How do you address security issues on VoIP?

The fundamental function of our products including Session Board Controllers and NBS52100 has the ability to nab and authenticate and to provide quality of service to different types of media. The other product, Voicesentry, will leverage Session Board Controllers and it protects various enterprises from malicious attacks. This is done using robotics dialers and programs that generate fake and malicious calls. Voicesentry detects abnormalities and uses those abnormalities to flag fake calls. These fake calls will be later let into caller prompts.

Sonus Networks offers voice capture. This solution leverages the technology that is internet based, where people are supposed to enter some code when they try to buy something. Voice capture will follow a similar format with voice. This is later led into the caller prompts for enterprises to detect whether a call is being made by a human being or by a program. Voice sentry is an application-aware security system that protects call centers against telephony Denial of Service and other voice attacks. This system learns and adapts to the enterprise-specific calling patterns. And our product protects enterprises from voice denial of service and distributed denial of service.

What are your objectives?

Sonus Networks is the number one company in high density in media gateway and holds the second position in Session Board Controllers segment globally, we ought to preserve that lead. We are looking at gaining market share in emerging regions. Our products are younger, built for tomorrow's needs and we believe that we are going to grow that market space for Sonus Networks.
