A study undertaken by Sulekha.com has unveiled interesting trends and insights about the service categories that have seen an increase during Unlock 2.0 in July.
This study is based on visits and searches by nearly 5,49,000+ users across Indian cities that landed on Sulekha in July 2020 (July 1st – 31st).
During Unlock 2.0, the top 3 service categories that have seen a spike in online searches include Internet Service Providers (41,687), Job Training (24,621) & Placement Consultancies (23,597).
As the majority of people are working from home, there has been a natural increase in service requests for Internet Service Providers. Also, many employees across the nation have been laid off which may have led to the increase in online searches for Placement Consultancies.
Similar to Unlock 1.0, Job Training continues to retain its spot as one of the top searched services.
The top 5 cities that are leading in online searches across service categories include: Delhi, Chennai, and Bangalore followed by Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Delhi leads the demand for overall online searches; the top 5 service categories that were searched include Internet Service Providers (4,408), Placement Consultancies (3,765), Domestic Help Services (2,921), Job Training (2,291) and Massage centers (1,959).
In Chennai, the top 5 service categories that were searched include Internet Service Providers (1,472), Packers & Movers (1,216), Home Appliance & Services (1,083) followed by Placement Consultancies (1,051) and Job Training (940).
In Bangalore, the top 5 service categories that were searched include Internet Service Providers (2,247), Packers & Movers (1,593), Placement Consultancies (1,465) followed by Domestic Help Services (1,323) and Job Training (960).
In Mumbai, the top 5 service categories that were searched include Internet Service Providers (2,004), Job Training (1,423), Placement Consultancies (1,416) followed by Massage Centers (1,140) and Domestic Help Services (1,055).
In Hyderabad, the top 5 service categories that were searched include Internet Service Providers (1,551), Domestic Help Services (1,507), Massage Centers (1,375) followed by Placement Consultancies (1,177) and Packers & Movers (960).
Comparing the growth in online searches for service categories from April – July 2020, Packers & Movers grew by 745%, Furniture Dealers/Rentals Services by 590% and Work at Home Job Providers by 139%.
