The tests were carried out by the Optical Internet working Forum (OIF) to showcase the multi-vendor interoperability of Ethernet services, in a multi-carrier environment over OTN transport.

The conducted tests involved GE/10GE EPL/EVPL service interoperability, ODUk/ODUflex mapping and compressing, ODUk/ODUflex overhead interoperability, ODUk SNCP cross-domain protection, and OTUk ENNI interoperability.

The integration of GMPLS/ASON control plane features into OTN enables greater bandwidth efficiency, simplified O&M, faster service provisioning, and enhanced network reliability. The Chinese company has deployed over 70 commercial OTN GMPLS/ASON networks worldwide.
