Finolex Announces Aggressive Plans

Considering the growth of the networking segment, structured cabling company Finolex Cables Ltd has some very aggressive plans for the market. They have signed up with the $ 3 billion US cabling major Levitan for a marketing and manufacturing. As part of its $ 4 million manufacturing operations, Finolex will be involved in making and drawing of fiber. Finolex is currently manufacturing 8000 boxes every month both at its Urse and Goa plant. According to KB Prasad, AGM Marketing, "To enhance its market reach, Finolex plans to make use of its 2000 strong dealer network (of pipes and electrical cables).

Already the company has appointed NIs in all the regions and is in the process of getting national NIs in place to cater to major enterprise users." A structured cabling training school for electricians with a capacity to train 500 electricians at a time has also been set up. Finolex, which will be shortly launching the Category 6 cables, is also looking at exports to South Africa, Middle East, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Prasad added that "With more focus on manufacturing, the company is open to OEM manufacturing too." It is expected that Finolex should do business worth Rs 4 crore this year, and double it to Rs 8 crore in the next fiscal.
