DIAL gets ISO 22301:2012 certification

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has announced that it has achieved ISO 22301:2012 Societal Security - Business Continuity Management System Certification.by British Standards Institution (BSI) for having a business continuity management system which covers the risk and impact associated with the disruption of critical business processes; the strategy that will set the direction toward readiness for the organization, and the development and deployment of a comprehensive business continuity program.

"DIAL had identified and undertaken an internal zero tolerance activity aimed at minimizing operational disruptions through hardening of existing processes and mitigating all types of envisioned risk. This activity also focused on building adequate resiliency into the existing infrastructure to ensure minimum operational disruption and formed a critical input to BCP at DIAL," said a statement.

The certificate was presented in person by Venkataram Arabolu, MD of BSI India to DIAL's CEO, I Prabhakara Rao on 30th January 2013.

DIAL CEO, I Prabhakara Rao said, "DIAL felt that it was imperative to assess the preparedness of Delhi Airport in handling emergency situations during temporary disruption of critical processes due to unforeseen circumstances. Initiatives like these makes us better equipped to handle past incidents such as power disruption and check in system failure. Passengers travelling from Delhi airport can now rest aside their travel worries every time they travel through Delhi Airport".

ISO 22301:2012 is the latest standard on Business Continuity Management system presented framework enabling organisations to follow a disciplined approach in identifying critical processes and to ensure business continuity with minimum disruption while its one or more critical processes are temporarily interrupted.
