With the view to bridge the information gap between resellers, dealers and vendors in the western region, Cyber Media (India) Ltd launched the Mumbai edition of The DQ Week on February 21. This edition, which would reach around 5,000 resellers in this region that comprises of Gujarat, Goa and Maharashtra, would come out on every Monday. The edition was jointly unveiled by Amar Babu, GM (Channels), Intel; Raj Saraf, Chairman and MD, Zenith Computers Ltd; PG Kamath, Country GM, Lexmark; Devang Shah, Administrative Director, Mumbai Chapter, CMDA; Gul Phagwani, President, TAIT; and Umang Mehta, Committee Member, TAIT. Nearly 200 leading channel partners, distributors as well as vendors were present at the glittering function.
Speaking on the occasion, Shyam Malhotra, Editor-in-chief, Cyber Media Publications, said, "Considering the vast community of resellers in the western region, we decided it was high time that we came out with the publication that would act as an interface between them and the vendors." He added, "Keeping in mind that the Delhi and Chennai editions of The DQ Week have been huge successes, we also expect the Mumbai edition to reach similar heights." Phagwani said that the channel fraternity has now got a voice in the form of The DQ Week, which was much needed in this region. "It is definitely going to serve the purpose of resellers."
Although there will be a strong focus on news from Mumbai, the other places in the
western region will certainly not be neglected. Rather, there will be a heavy dose of news and happenings from the other parts of Maharashtra as well as Gujarat.
The DQ Week’s Mumbai edition would make special emphasis to ensure that it carries a lot of stuff which would be of direct or indirect benefit to the vast channel community which is doing business in the western region. The Chennai and the Delhi editions–started in September 1996 and August 1997 respectively--of The DQ Week reach out to almost 5,000 and 9,000 resellers respectively every week. And with the inception of its Mumbai edition, The DQ Week as a whole would cater to the needs of around 19,000 resellers all across the country week after week.
