Cable & Wireless To Start NOC in Bangalore

An 8,000 square ft NOC (Network Operation Center) is being set up by Cable & Wireless in Bangalore. The NOC is likely to be operational by March and will have a team of about thirty people to manage it, disclosed Sunanada Das, GM, Cable & Wireless in Mumbai. Being set up at the Bangalore IT park, this $ 4 million NOC with a 10 GBPS backbone will be its fifth in the world, after the US, UK, HK and Japan, and will serve Cable & Wireless’s global MNC clients. Cable & Wireless’s operations in India has grown by over 100 percent this fiscal. The company, which is also the second largest bandwidth holder in the world (4,60,000 cable kilometres), is also considering setting up a node in India for their global Internet backbone.
