The new facility is aimed at delivering service delivery capabilities as customers invest throughout the region. It will create 60 new critical roles in India, the new jobs will be in sales enablement, delivery and implementation of services for customers. The opening of BT's New Delhi showcase follows the launch of BT Showcases in Hong Kong in September 2010, Beijing in November 2010, Sydney in January 2011 and Singapore in March 2011. These showcases are networked with BT's showcase centres in London and New York, added the release.

Kevin Taylor, president, BT Global Services Asia Pacific, said: “India is a critical component to BT's success and vision and is a key location to a large number of global companies. Many of our customers are expanding into India and we are investing to extend our communications infrastructure and services to support their growth. We have a long history of investment, a strong customer base and an excellent product and solution offering in this country, the latest example of which may be seen in the New Delhi showcase, bringing to life the opportunities offered by a networked, converged world.”

In May 2010, BT announced a strategic investment plan to strengthen its business in the Asia Pacific region. BT is recruiting up to 300 additional people in the key customer markets of Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Singapore, in order to build up its sales and professional services teams, bid and project management, and service operations teams. It is also expanding the in-region proposition portfolio. Since entering the Indian market with direct sales operations in 1995, BT has set up regional security operations centre (SOC) in Noida and a regional centre of Excellence in Pune. BT is one of the providers of communications solutions and services and it is operating in more than 170 countries.
