Amdocs has announced the go-live of a major transformation program at Globe Telecom, one of the largest service providers in the Philippines and a subsidiary of Ayala and the SingTel Group.
Acting as the prime systems integrator for this seven-year transformation and managed services engagement, Amdocs is responsible for the entire transformation and ongoing IT management and operations of Globe Telecom's business support systems (BSS), business intelligence (BI), data warehouse (DW) and policy management systems, as well as legacy systems which are being gradually retired.
All this will help Globe to create a differentiated and consistent customer experience across all channels, shorten time to market for new offerings, drive service uptake and revenues, and reduce operational cost.
As part of this transformation program, Amdocs will manage and consolidate more than 200 legacy systems across all of Globe Telecom's lines of business onto a single BSS platform to provide Globe with a 360-degree view of the customer, simplify business processes, offer bundled and innovative offers rapidly, as well as achieve operational efficiencies.
Today's go-live announcement marks a significant project milestone with the successful migration of Globe's postpaid customers to the new BSS platform. Migration of prepaid customers will take place later this year.
"The convergent integrated platform provides a unified customer view across all lines of business (postpaid, prepaid, wireline, broadband) as well as a single data source for advanced reporting, executive dashboards, analytics and strategic decision making. We are now able to act in real time, target customers and customer segments with innovative and differentiated offers and bundles, and leverage our operations efficiently to increase revenues and reduce customer attrition," said Ernest Cu, president and chief executive officer at Globe Telecom.
We have gained significant value from Amdocs assuming full responsibility of our systems and operations and managing our data lifecycle ‒ from the end-to- end management of the BSS system, where the data is created, to the BI and DW system where the data is analyzed added Cu.
"This project involves the transformation and managed services of BSS and BI/DW in parallel, which makes for a project of high complexity. The success of the project and the remarkable speed with which it was implemented are testament to Globe's commitment to deliver on its cutting-edge customer-centric strategy; Amdocs' experience and know-how gained from delivering some of the industry's largest transformation projects, and our expanded services capabilities," said Yoav Zaltzman, division president for the Asia Pacific region at Amdocs.
With Amdocs as the prime systems integrator for the entire project and as the managed services provider responsible for some of Globe's most critical business systems and processes, Globe has a single point of accountability and can focus on areas that are core to its business - the customer experience and service innovation added Zaltzman.
