AK Garg to replace Kuldip Singh as CMD, MTNL

AK Garg, director, human resources, BSNL has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the telecom PSU MTNL.

Garg will be replacing acting CMD Kuldip Singh.

This major announcement has come after MTNL, providing cellular and fixed phone services in the Delhi and Mumbai, did not take any note worthy decision regarding the firm's operations in absence of a full time CMD.

The increasing competition from private telcos and the constantly decreasing revenues has too contributed in taking of this major decision by the PSU.

Garg possesses an experience of 33 years in telecommunications and was appointed as a director(HR) by BSNL in January 2011.

The date of joining has not been confirmed by the company yet.
