Vodafone to launch 4G services in India's Kolkata

NEW DELHI: India’s second largest wireless operator by subscribers, Vodafone India has said that it will lauch its 4G services in the City of Joy- Kolkata on 25th January.Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is the capital of India's West Bengal state.

Few days ago, the company has announced the availability of 4G SIMs for its customers at all of its 28 exclusive stores located at prominent locations in and around Kolkata.

As 4G requires a 4G enabled handset and new SIM, to make their customers ready prior to the launch Vodafone has already introduced a SIMEX process where, the customers can change their SIMs at any of the Vodafone stores and as soon as the commercial launch happen, they will start getting the 4G services.

Also, Vodafone is offering free 1GB 4G data on pre booking of the 4G SIMs from 12th January to 24th January. To enjoy this offer, customers should be having 4G-enabled handsets and active 3G Pack/Plan as on 24th January. Through this offer prepaid customers can enjoy free 1GB, 4G data for 10 days whereas post paid customers will get the same for 30 days. To avail this offer, the customers have to send the SMS Voda4G to 199.
