Vodafone to launch 4G services by December

Mumbai: Telecom firm Vodafone India will commence its 4G services in Mumbai by December 2015 and has invested over Rs 500 crores to modernize and upgrade existing network.

Vodafone has been aggressively investing in the development of the 4G services and has partnered with global technology infrastructure service providers for the network roll-out. With some of the latest technological developments on the anvil, Vodafone intends to build a robust and resilient network architecture coupled with strong backup to support the expected volumes and speed requirements of its customers.

Ishmeet Singh, Business Head–Mumbai, Vodafone India, said, “We are the leading service provider in Mumbai and our customers have a lot to look forward to. We are excited to launch our new 4G services in the superior 1800 MHz band for our customers in Mumbai. Having launched 4G services in several countries, Vodafone has the requisite expertise and experience to ensure that its 4G service in Mumbai will be best in class. We will continue to pursue our customer centric strategy in an endeavor to meet their evolving needs for better and smarter connectivity for both voice and data.”

In the first six months of the current financial year, Vodafone has already rolled out over 1,000 sites and invested more than Rs 500 crores in Mumbai. It has also made significant investments in upgrading its own network plus modernizing the radio network and switching systems to provide a superior mobile internet experience for customers.

In addition, charging platforms have also been upgraded to facilitate a wider bouquet of products and services.
