Vodafone launches Secure Device Manager

Thanks to the increasing adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend which has empowers workforce alongside it has also thrown open newer revenue generating avenues. One of the leading telecom operators in India, Vodafone has embarked to leverage the adoption of BYOD trend, it has introduced Vodafone Secure Device Manager for corporates. Vodafone Secure Device Manager is offered on cloud platform and it secures access to corporate information by remotely securing authorising smartphones and tablets.

Vodafone Secure Device Manager is said to be platform and device agnostic. Vodafone India has priced it at Rs 175 per license per month. The company anticipates IT and media sector to be the early adopters of this service. Naveen Chopra, Director, Vodafone Business Services said that the company has already been offering Secure Device Manager service to over 18,000 handsets in Germany.

It audits devices remotely for corporate security policy compliance, protects data by enforcing encryption and pass codes, remotely locks or wipes devices in the case of accidental device loss or theft. Secure Device Manager enables Chief Information Officers (CIO) & Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) to gain visibility to and remotely configure and secure organisations device estate.
