The 4G experience has been upgraded and improved in Uttarakhand and UP West , according to a statement from Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL). A total of 3100+ sites as well as 10295 sites in Uttarakhand and UP West have already been equpped with Vi's highly effective 900MHz and 1800MHz bands.
From September 2018 to May 2022, the number of Test-driven development(TDD) sites increased by 3195, resulting in a 4.8 fold increase in data capacity. Vi has launched many projects as part of its commitment to providing the best customer services to its subscribers in Uttarakhand and UP West:
- Taking the network to more residents of the two states, Vi has installed / upgraded 5920 Broadband Towers since Sep’ 18 taking the total population coverage on 4G to 97.5% in Uttarakhand & UP West
- 56.2 Mhz of spectrum across bands – 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 2500 MHz, making it the most robust telecom service provider in the Uttarakhand & UP West
- To ensure better voice clarity and indoor experience, Vi has deployed 900 MHz band spectrum on 4G in the two states. In addition, Vi is the only private network with the 4G capacity band 2500Mhz in the state.
- Vi has also been upgrading all 3G customers to 4G and enhanced 4G capacity by refarming spectrum in more than 15+ towns and 10+ districts.

Additionally, Vi users in commercial and residential areas of Haridwar, Dehradun, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Roorkee, Agra, Meerut, Bareilley, Aligarh, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Mathura among other significant cities are enjoying improved experiences in both calls and internet even indoors including densely populated areas of these towns.
