Viom Networks appoints Vivek Garg as CRM

Viom Networks on Thursday appointed Vivek Garg as its new chief relationship officer (CRM) with effect from November 8, 2013. He will report to COO Sudhir Prasad. He will be based in Gurgaon, Harayna.

Vivek joins Viom Networks from Globacom (or GLO), Nigeria's second-largest telecom operator with over 25 mn subscribers. He was the Chief Commercial Director in the company. In this role, he was responsible for mobility operations across Nigeria and managed an annual business of USD 1 bn.

"Before that, Vivek was senior executive vice president and member of the Wireless Management Board at Reliance Communications (RCOM) and previously held a number of other senior positions at RCOM including national service operations head and roles with full profit and loss (P&L) accountability. He has earlier also served at Tata Teleservices," the company said in a statement.

"I am extremely pleased to announce Vivek as our chief relationship officer. The resurgence of the Indian telecom sector and the next phase of the telecom growth necessitate even closer partnerships with our customers--the telecom operators," said Syed Safawi, chief executive officer of Viom Networks.

Vivek's management skills and extensive telecom experience with complex, multi-dimensional customers will fuel our ability to innovate and strengthen our customer engagements and drive business growth.

In addition, Garg's 25 years of experience, post his MBA, spans telecommunications and consumer goods in both commercial and operational roles. He has a proven track record of leading start-ups and business turnarounds.
