SSTL gets unified telecom license

Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), the company which operates under MTS brand has said that it has received unified telecom license valid for a period of 20 years.

The unified license will enable the company to use telecom technologies liberally. And the company can provide any telecom service at anytime or anywhere.

"With this development, the company becomes the first telecom operator in the country to be a part of Unified Licensing regime," the company mentioned in its statement.

" This is a positive development and would bring clarity in the operating environment for the Company. We are now looking forward to the allotment of the third carrier of spectrum that we had won in the March 2013 auctions," said Dmitry Shukov, Chief Executive Officer, SSTL.

The company has been granted license to provide telecom services in eight circles like Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West) and West Bengal.

In addition to these 8 telecom circles, SSTL's footprint also includes Rajasthan circle.
