“Brisk bidding was seen on 12th day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100%. There is robust bidding going on in 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands. About 88% of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders,” an official statement said.

Majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price. The competitive bidding is expected to continue, it added.

According to media reports, “Vodafone could be aiming to get some 3G spectrum at reasonable prices. This is what Reliance Jio could be aiming for too and the strategy seems to be drain a rival financially, reducing competitiveness in another band which it actually intends to buy.”
