NEW DELHI: India’s leading online marketplace Snapdeal has hired Rajiv Mangla as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the company.

In his new role, he will establish the company’s technical vision and lead all aspects of the company’s technological development.

Prior to his appointment at Snapdeal, Mangla spent about 10 years at Adobe Systems where he most recently served as VP Engineering, Digital Marketing.

He has been instrumental in Adobe’s foray into enterprise and digital marketing businesses and managed global teams across all solutions of Adobe Marketing Cloud. His responsibilities at Adobe included foundational big data, content and personalization technologies.

Prior to joining Adobe, Mangla had been an entrepreneur for 10 years and founded couple of companies. He holds a BTech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The technology team at Snapdeal is currently 1.000 people strong and the company looks at doubling it by the end of this year. The company has significantly ramped up its technology leadership team and has hired senior leaders from across the globe. Anand Chandrasekaran ex-CPO Bharti Airtel, Gaurav Gupta, formerly the India Head of Scalearc – a Bay area start-up, Amitava Ghosh ex CTO Taxi for Sure and Viraj Chatterjee ex Director Engineering, Adobe Systems have all joined the Snapdeal family as core members of the technology team.
