Simmtronics partners with Digilife, Ericsson

Simmtronics Semiconductor has roped in HCL Infosystems's subsidiary, Digilife Distribution and Marketing Services (DDMS) as its distribution partner. The company has signed a licensing agreement with Ericsson.

Simmtronics has, today, launched XPAD X722 tablet and it is priced at Rs 8,499. The tablet is powered by Cortex A8 1GHz processor and Android 4.0 Icecream sandwich operating system. It comes with 2G calling, rear 2 mega pixel camera and front 0.3 MP camera, 3500mAH battery. The company has also added X1 and X2 smartphones. It plans to launch another five mobile devices in next three to four months.

Since 1992, Simmtronics had been manufacturing IT components including memory module, LED monitors, pen drive, micro SD card, hard disk drive etc. It tested the waters of mobile devices segment two years back. It has over 425 service centers in India.

The company has 5 manufacturing facilities - 3 in India, one each in Dubai and Singapore. The company has been supplying a few mobile components to 7 mobile devices brands including Micromax, Spice, Go Tech Mobiles.
