According to the most recent subscriber figures compiled by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI), Reliance Jio outperformed Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea by adding 29.4 lakh mobile phone users in July , increasing its subscription base to 41.59 crore subscribers. While Vodafone Idea continued to lose customers, Bharti Airtel added 5.1 lakh wireless subscribers, bringing its total user base to 36.34 crore. In the reviewed month, the financially struggling telecom business lost 15.4 lakh mobile clients, further reducing its user base to 25.51 crore and illustrative of its ongoing struggles.

With 52.29% market shar, Jio led the broadband internet market followed by Bharti Airtel coming in second with 27.5%, Vodafone Idea came in third with 15.23%, and BSNL with 3.13% of all customers. The number of wireline subscribers climbed by a net of 60,000 from 255.7 lakh at June end to 256.3 lakh at the end of July as explained by TRAI's data.

The report further revealed that overall wireless tele-density slightly fell in July from 83.27% in June to 83.25%. By the end of July, there had been a total of 72.48 crore requests for mobile number portability from around 102.3 lakh users.

In accordance with Visitor Location Register, a crucial indicator of the proportion of customers that are actively using a mobile network, Bharti Airtel has 97.99% of its consumers that are actively using the network. In contrast, Vodafone Idea has 85.03% while Airtel has 91.88 of its subscribers engaged on the network.

As per TRAI, India's wireless subscriber base increased slightly by 0.06% reaching 114.8 crore at the end of July from 114.7 crore the month prior. The market shares of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel increased from 36% and 31.63% to 36.23% and 31.66% respectively, whereas Vodafone Idea's stake decreased from 22.37% in June to 22.22% in July.

At the end of July, the top 5 service providers controlled 98.42% of the market for broadband subscribers overall. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, and Atria Convergence were the providers in question according to TRAI.

At the end of July, there were 65.04 crore urban subscribers, increased from 64.90 crore at the end of June. Data showed that the number of customers in India's huge rural population decreased to 52.33 crore from 52.39 crore during the same time, marking a rare dip in rural subscriptions.
