Telenet grew by 500 percent last fiscal to achieve a turnover of Rs 51.9 crore.
Even in terms of number of subscribers, the company is the largest private basic
service provider in the country with a subscriber base of 88,000 subscribers. It
has put in place 3,500 km of optical fibre network connecting 22 towns of Madhya
Pradesh.

Recently, the company crossed the 1,00,000-mark and has an
ambitious plan for this fiscal. Bharti Telenet is planning to double its
customer base and plans to pay more focus on data communications. Having reached
22 towns, it is planning to increase its depth in the towns where they are
operational. The company is also planning to start new services based on
Intelligent Network (IN) platform and plans to open up Internet
market in the state.
The company has joined hands with Bharti BT Internet to offer
free Internet service to AirTel subscribers in Madhya Pradesh. To avail this
service, subscribers have to dial 1500 and fill an online form. After that they
can surf the Net for unlimited hours at the rate of a local phone call.
The company’s vision is to provide world-class communication services to
every home and workplace. The plan in years to come is to broadband the service
and offer deeper penetration and better customer service.
