NEW DELHI: Qualcomm India President and Vice President Sunil Lalvani has resigned from his post after a stint of just over a year.

"Sunil Lalvani has decided to step down from his position as VP & President of Qualcomm India. His replacement will be announced shortly. Parag Kar, Vice President of Government Affairs will serve as the interim head of India," the company said in its statement.

He was reporting to Jim Cathey, Senior Vice President and President, Asia Pacific & India, Qualcomm.

He served BlackBerry as India head before joining Qualcomm, and worked at EMC Corporation, Nokia Corporation, Cisco Systems and SITA Equant Network (now Orange Business Services).

Lalvani has more than 21 years of experience in sales, business development, strategic planning and business operations across the IT and telecom sectors.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from Bombay University and a post graduate diploma in marketing management from Xavier’s Institute of Management, India.
