Nokia Networks hires Rupa Santosh to lead technology center at Bengaluru

NEW DELHI: Nokia has appointed Rupa Santosh as head of Nokia Networks’ Technology Center, Bengaluru, effective June 1, 2015.

In this role, Santosh will continue to manage the centre as amongst the leading research and development site for Nokia Networks globally. The Bengaluru Technology Center is one of the largest R&D centers for Nokia Networks that contribute to key product development in telecommunications networks. The center is located at Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru, and has nearly 4,000 workforce.

“Her experience will further strengthen Nokia’s research and development functions globally and for our operations in India,” said Sandeep Girotra, Vice President and head of India Market, Nokia Networks.

“We will actively engage with the vibrant ecosystem of academia, industry and entrepreneurs in Bangalore city to advance Nokia’s commitment towards research and development, and deliver significant value to our customers and partners globally. With the exceptional talent in India in the field of research, I look forward to working with our teams, customers and ecosystem partners to ensure that our Bangalore Technology Center is amongst the industry leaders,” said Santosh.

Prior to this, Rupa was leading Single RAN R&D at Bengaluru where she spear-headed research and development across key network entities like RNC, BTS and Femto, providing leadership to over 450 member team.

Rupa brings with her over two decades of experience in telecom software development where she has successfully delivered several large-scale, multi-site projects in complex technology areas.
