From global movie hits like “To all the boys I’ve loved before” to hit sitcoms like “La casa de papel”, the streaming video giant cannot be defeated. It is connecting people from all over the world, irrespective of language barriers or age differences.

The study says that the demand for Stranger Things and other Netflix shows gets a boost during the night. “At peak hour on fixed networks, this number can spike as high as 40% on some operator networks in the region,” the study also states.

According to Fortune, the study gives all the credit to Netflix’s exceptional stream compression technology, noting “Netflix could easily be 3x their current volume and at 40% of network traffic all the time”.

The report also highlights that on a global scale other media streams which possess huge amount of traffic, included HTTP media streams, such as embedded videos on websites, which took up 13.1% of bandwidth; YouTube, which commands 11.4% of the world’s bandwidth; and web browsing at 7.8% of downstream traffic.

The report acknowledged that the fever to stream videos is still growing and in US Amazon Prime Video has now surpassed YouTube in data consumption (7.7% vs 7.5%).
