The company is planning an app in finance and e-commerce too, media reports said.

"Jio is hoping that the experience of using these services will differentiate its 4G service from other rival networks," the reports said quoting a person familiar with the development.

Jio Chat is the first product from Reliance Jio, which has invested over Rs 70,000 crore for rolling out 4G services.

It would also launch health monitoring and television channels apps. The television app, Jio Play, will offer all television channels on air.

"Making it available across platforms and useable across operators will create a ready-to-use application, and will test systems before the numbers add," the person said.
