Manu Kumar Jain, global vice president and former head of Xiaomi's Indian division, announced his resignation today. He has worked for the Chinese smart devices manufacturer for about nine years.

Announcing his exit, Jain tweeted, “Change is the only constant in life! Last 9 years, I’m lucky to have received so much love that it makes this goodbye so difficult. Thank you all. The end of a journey also marks the beginning of a new one, full of exciting opportunities. Hello to a new adventure!”

The development takes place in the middle of the current legal dispute between Xiaomi and Enforcement Directorate (ED), about suspected violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) by the firm.

In September last year, Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) approved ED's order of seizure of over Rs 5,551 crore worth of deposits of Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi.

“After nine years, I am moving on from the Xiaomi Group. I feel confident that now is the right time, as we have strong leadership teams across the world,” Jain further wrote.

Jain joined Xiaomi India as one of the company's first employees. He also co-founded the clothing website Jabong before joining Xiaomi India, which was later bought by Flipkart in 2016.

Jain’s departure from Xiaomi India occurs shortly after various other high-level departures from the company. While OEM's chief business officer, Raghu Reddy left in December of 2022, Xiaomi's General Manager of marketing Sumit Sonal just announced his resignation a week ago.
