MAIT appoints Amit Sardana as chairman of recycling forum

The Manufacturer's Association for Information Technology (MAIT) has appointed Amit Sardana as the chairman of its Recycling Forum.

He is the managing director of dataserv APAC, which is a part of the dataserv group. The dataserv group is a leading global organization providing full e-lifecycle services, encompassing secure, sustainable and ethically customized recycling solutions, for environmentally responsive recovery and disposal of IT assets.

Amit Sardana is a post graduate from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and has 20 years of extensive experience in the development sector, particularly in project management, sustainable waste management and change management.

"As a chairman of recycling forum of MAIT, Amit Sardnana will play a key role in addressing the issues of the recycling fraternity through dialogue and interactions with the stakeholders i.e government bodies (MOEF, State PCBs), bulk consumers and manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment," according to a media release.

"We are glad to announce Amit Sardana's appointment and under his expertise guidance, I am sure MAIT's Recycling Forum will achieve new milestones," said Anwar Shirpurwala, Executive Director, MAIT.

"I am honored to take on this role with MAIT and look forward to helping Indian hardware companies adopt a focused approach at pioneering concepts, addressing issues and overcoming emerging challenges of e-waste in the country. I look forward to the support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the sector," said Sardana.
