M1, Huawei launch nationwide LTE service in Singapore

M1, Singapore-based mobile operator rolled out nationwide LTE network in Singapore, in association with Huawei. M1 commercially launched the first LTE network within Singapore's financial district in June 2011, which was also the first LTE network in South East Asia.

Today, M1's LTE network has been expanded to the countrywide, which provides better Mobile Broadband (MBB) service in Singapore, said a statement. Huawei has provided its end-to-end SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution to serve the needs mobile broadband.

The solution enables 1800MHz/2600MHz dual-band LTE, it maximizes M1's spectrum assets to provide customers with best possible coverage and user experience. "We are delighted to continue the successful partnership with M1 and to help M1 build an advanced world-class LTE network, while assuring an efficient, sustainable and future-proof network operation." said Ying Weimin, President of GSM&UMTS

To date, Huawei has secured 92 commercial LTE/EPC contracts and has already launched 45 commercial LTE networks with leading operators globally, added the release.
