The Bharat 6G Alliance and the Next G Alliance of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) declared that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to look into prospects for cooperation on 6G wireless technologies. According to the announcement, the work will entail developing secure and reliable telecommunications systems as well as resilient supply chains, as well as coordinating research and development priorities to achieve a shared 6G vision.

The Next G Alliance was established by the ATIS with the goal of advancing North American wireless technology leadership over the following ten years through activities driven by the private sector and with an initial focus on 6G.

With the creation of the Bharat 6G Alliance a few months ago, India has already taken its first step towards the construction of 6G. The organisation seeks to perform research studies on 6G, run tests, create new technologies, certify products, and provide materials vital to the development of 6G.

According to a statement made by the PM's office, before the technology is used commercially, a top Open RAN (Radio Access Network) manufacturer will perform a 5G O-RAN pilot with a top Indian telecom operator. As a result, the vendor and the Indian telecom operator would be better equipped to grasp the technology and will be in a better position to provide their clients with more valuable services.

The Bharat 6G Alliance aspires to advance the ecosystem for, among other things, telecom product and solution research, design, development, IPR creation, field testing, security, certification, and manufacturing. President and CEO of ATIS Susan Miller and Chair of the Bharat 6G Alliance N. G. Subramaniam signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

At a time when, studies and research into 6G are still ongoing, collaboration between the two nations to collaborate on developing new technology will only benefit the ecosystem and help the economies grow. When it comes to domestic technology, India is expanding quickly. Reliance Jio, an Indian telecom provider, has already created 5G solutions that can be exported to wealthy nations like the US and others who rely excessively on European vendors that charge high prices for their products.

According to a joint statement from the United States and India, ATIS and the Bharat 6G Alliance agree that the two nations share a vision for building secure and reliable telecommunications, resilient supply chains, and enabling global digital inclusion. Both nations have an ambitious vision for 6G networks that includes cooperation on standards and a determination to work together to advance 6G technology R&D.
