Idea expands 4G services to 9 Districts in North East

NEW DELHI: Aditya Birla group-led Idea Cellular has now expanded its high-speed 4G LTE services to cover 9 Districts of North East Service Area. Idea’s 4G LTE services are now available in Agartala, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima, Mokokchung, Senapati and Tura, in addition to Dimapur launched earlier this year.

With the rapid expansion in a fairly short span of time, Idea’s 4G LTE services are now available to over 1.7 million people in North East.

Customers in Tura, Senapati and Mokokchung will have their first 4G experience on the Idea network as it is has become the first operator to make 4G available in these towns.

Speaking on the expansion, Mr. Anish Roy, Chief Operating Officer, East, Idea Cellular said, “As part of the aggressive roll out of Idea’s 4G LTE service, our focus has been to build a robust telecom infrastructure and provide superior internet coverage. With better internet experience at affordable tariff plans and commitment towards customer delight, we aim to provide the best experience to our subscribers.”

In the North East market, Idea has kept its focus strong by investing heavily in securing spectrum, setting up network infrastructure and laying and maintaining the Optical FIbre Cable in tough terrain. Idea Cellular offers 2G services on 1800 MHz platform in over 500 towns and villages, 3G services on intra circle roaming basis (ICR) and has now introduced its high speed 4G LTE services in the region.
