IBM will manage all infrastructure services to address the IT needs for the newspaper. IBM's iMS solution, a remotely managed and infrastructure model, enables the newspaper to improve level of services, and deliver new offerings with reduced costs. VRL will also be positioned to leverage IBM's assets such as tools, processes and technology skills to enable a 24x7 monitoring, management and reporting services of their IT infrastructure, said a press note.

The solution is also based on a flexible OPEX (Operational Expenditure) model which enables VRL Media to reduce the overall cost for IT implementation, substantially, added the note. “IBM's solution helps our new media venture immensely.

This long-term engagement will not only help us better utilize our IT budget but also continuously improve the technology environment, critical for business growth. IBM takes a holistic approach that involves end-to-end designing and delivering robust technical solutions that are easy to acquire and backed by world-class support,” said Anand Sankeshwar, Managing Director, VRL Media.

The iMS solution provides clients with the capability to monitor and manage assets using an optimized cloud delivered service. By leveraging iMS, IBM designed a robust model that will help drive higher operational efficiency, reduce business operating costs, and manage risk better across all the locations from where the newspaper gets published.
