Google’s Daydream View is now available on Flipkart for ₹6,499

BENGALURU: Without a ticket, you can now go on a virtual tour of a world-renowned museum or see extinct animals come to life and much more with Google’s Daydream View. Launched yesterday in India, Google’s Daydream View headset and controller is available on Flipkart for ₹6,499.

Launch offers: PhonePe users on Flipkart that buy Daydream via UPI will get a flat ₹300 off on payment. Also, the first 30 customers will receive a Google Chromecast free, and the first 50 customers will receive a Google Play Store Credit worth ₹500.

Speaking on the launch, Clay Bavor, Vice President of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality at Google said, “Daydream View promises users a mesmerising experience. Swim with a pod of dolphins, stand at the edge of a volcano and even visit Pluto with Daydream View. Users can teleport from virtually anywhere to pretty much everywhere. Our aim is to make the VR experience mobile so that customers can easily carry it anywhere with them. We at Google are also working with developers, smartphone companies, and content creators to make VR accessible to all.”

Designed and developed by Google, Daydream View delivers simple, high-quality VR. With Daydream View, users can always get the best seat in the house. Experience sports, live events and more in full 360° panoramic view. Plus, now Indian users can watch top shows and movies, distraction-free, on their own virtual big screen.

Pixel, the first Daydream-ready phones: Said to be the first, Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL are Daydream-ready phones. Users can experience Daydream on the Moto Z and is coming soon to Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Daydream-ready phones are built with high-resolution displays, powerful mobile processors and high-fidelity sensors—all tuned to support great VR experiences.

The headset is made with soft, breathable fabric and is designed to fit over eye glasses. The phone and headset have an auto-alignment system so users don’t have to worry about cables or connectors.

A big part of what makes Daydream View special is the controller. This small yet powerful controller lets users interact with the virtual world the same way they interact with the real world around them. Daydream View is packed with sensors that respond precisely to a user’s movement and gestures — swing it like a cricket bat or wave it like a magic wand. When you’re done using it, slide it into a specially-created area within the headset and never worry about losing it in a bag or between couch cushions.

From the universe of YouTube videos to magical worlds where users can cast spells and levitate objects, there is an array of experiences waiting to be enjoyed on Daydream. With YouTube VR, users can watch the entire library of videos on a virtual big screen and experience VR videos from creators from around the world.

Additionally, the Street View can be used to see curated tours of over 150 of the world’s most amazing places like the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal — fly over a city, stand at the top of the highest peaks, and even soar into space. Step inside a virtual gallery and view masterpieces from over 50 world-renowned museums with Arts & Culture. With Play Movies, users can watch shows and films on their own personal big-screen. And Google Photos displays your 360° captures in a whole new way.

Apps and games on Daydream include NYT VR, Guardian VR, The Turning Forest, Labster: World of Science, Netflix VR, Google Play Movies, Within, Fantastic Beasts, The Arcslinger, Wonderglade, Mekorama VR, Gunjack 2: End of Shift, Need for Speed No Limits VR, LEGO BrickHeadz Builder VR and dozens more.
