Gionee names Deepika Singh as new Director-Marketing Communications

NEW DELHI: Gionee India has appointed Deepika Singh as its new Director for Marketing communications division. Singh has been heading the company’s all important Communications and Corporate Affairs portfolio for the past one and half years.

Elevated to this position, Deepikaalong with managing and directing company’s internal and external communications will also support the company’s brand building initiatives and sales growth across regions in the country.

As part of Gionee’s concerted push to foster community connect, Deepika will also be responsible for spearheading the company’s CSR initiatives, developing appropriate social responsibility goals and metrics and overseeing their implementation.

As Director – Marketing Communications, Deepika is the official spokesperson and head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs at Gionee India. She has over 16 years of diverse experience in the field of communications and branding, and is an integral part of the core Corporate Strategy team at Gionee India.

In her multi-faceted role, Deepika along with managing and directing company’s internal and external communications will also support the company’s brand building initiatives and sales growth across regions in the country. As part of the core team driving marketing strategies and partnerships, she is responsible for all brand communications and building the Gionee brand among a fast increasing customer base in the country. Deepika also drives the company’s CSR initiatives by developing appropriate social responsibility goals and metrics and overseeing their implementation.

Prior to Gionee, Deepika has held several senior positions in leading communication advisories like Perfect Relations, IPAN Hill & Knowlton and Concept, where she worked on reputation management mandates for leading Indian and Multinational organizations. She has also managed Corporate Communications and Branding at Bunge India and Sesame Workshop. Her keen interest in philanthropy also saw her attached to a WHO project on water and sanitation in Bangladesh early in her career.

A meritorious student of the prestigious Loreto Convent College, Deepika completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, English and History from Lucknow University, followed by a Diploma from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in the discipline of Advertising & Public Relations.

As an avid musician, Deepika is also an accomplished Indian classical singer and plays several instruments. She was also declared a recommended candidate for the rank of Lieutenant in the Army (Women Entry Scheme (O) 16) 2000 by the Service Selection Board, Bhopal.
