Günther Vogelpoel leaves from Tele2 AB

Tele2 AB (Tele2) has said that Günther Vogelpoel, executive vice president and CEO of its Netherlands office, has decided to leave the company.

Günther Vogelpoel joined Tele2 in 1999 and has held several senior positions within marketing, sales, customer operations and worked both for Tele2 Netherlands and Pan-European for Tele2 Group. He held the position as CEO of Tele2 Netherlands and EVP of the Tele2 Group since early 2011.

For the time, Ernst Jan van Rooijen, CFO of Tele2 Netherlands, has been appointed acting CEO of its Netherlands, effective as of today. He will become member of the Tele2 AB Leadership Team until a replacement has been recruited.

"We have greatly appreciated Günther's contributions to the company's success during his years with Tele2. His extensive experience and understanding of the telecom industry has been of great value to the business ," said Mats Granryd, President and CEO of Tele2 AB.

"Driven by the opportunities that our 4G investments will bring. However, there are also challenges and possibilities within our consumer fixed broadband that need to be swiftly and sharply addressed. Hence, it feels good that we have a strong management team in place in Tele2 Net," said Mats Granryd.
