Freecharge joins hands with CCD

NEW DELHI:India’s Digital Payments platform Freecharge said that it has joined hands with Café Coffee Day (CCD),is an Indian café chain owned by Coffee Day Global Limited.

With this, Coffee Lovers can now pay at 1,420 CCD outlets in 187 cities using their Freecharge wallet for a seamless experience. Customers can use their mobile numbers to pay and complete the transaction with the patented On-The-Go-Pin in less than 10 seconds in a swifter yet more secure way.

Freecharge has developed On-The-Go-Pin keeping in mind the requirements of Quick Serving Restaurants (QSRs) and other sectors which looks at serving their customers in less than 10 seconds. Earlier this year Freecharge partnered with McDonalds, and received a great customer response with this partnership Freecharge strengthens is acceptance in Food and Beverage sector of the country. Freecharge has been actively foraying into the offline space to create a digital payments ecosystem for consumers and merchants. With each of these partnerships, Freecharge is evidently moving closer to creating a less cash economy.

Govind Rajan, Chief Operating Officer, Freecharge said, “ With CCD, we will expand Freecharge’s digital payment ecosystem to include new users and expand our wallet reach to 187 cities including smaller towns like Dhanbad, Agartala, Jamshedpur, Meerut, Jabalpur, Nellore, Nalgonda, Kurukeshtra, Hubli, Mangalore etc.”

Freecharge has created an enhanced User Interface for customers and 99% of the transactions are completed within 10 seconds. Merchants can start accepting digital payments with zero investment and instantly scale their business by getting access to over 25 million wallet users. The Freecharge wallet will go live across all outlets by 9th May.
