Frank Kern, new CEO of Aricent

A former IBM veteran, Frank Kern joins Aricent Group as the Chief Executive Officer, replacing Sudip Nandy with effective from today. Sudip Nandy will transition to a new role as the Aricent Group's Chairman of India and will be based in Bengaluru. Nandy will be returning to India to serve in a newly created position as Chairman of India.

In this role, he will support the Aricent Group's growing business operations in India. Kern was located in Shanghai, China, and Tokyo, Japan, where he led the Asia Pacific region from 2003 through early 2008. Before his work in Asia, Mr. Kern was located in Paris, France, from 1998 through 2003, and managed the operations of IBM's Global Business Services unit for Europe, Middle East & Africa. From 1995 through 1997, he served as Chief Executive Officer of IBM Global Services in Australia. Kern has retired from IBM earlier this year. Kern holds a graduate degree from Bucknell University and MBA degree from Syracuse University.

"During Nandy's tenure as CEO, the Aricent Group has grown rapidly. Under his leadership, the company has grown revenues and profits, and the Aricent Group revenue is now double the size since when it was formed in September 2006. In addition, the company expanded its operations globally and increased its employee base by nearly 3,500 people under Nandy's leadership," said a press note.
