Deity unveils OGD Platform

The Department of Electronics & IT has launched its Open Government Data (OGD) Platform 2.0 at the OpenDataApps Challenge event in New Delhi.

"The OGD Platform 2.0 provides better experience to both data providers and platform users with an unified interface,"according to the ministry.

The new platform offers responsive web layout design, better discoverability of resources, enhanced visualization platform, potation to enable SMS, and email alerts, etc.

Besides this, the ministry felicitated winners of OpenDataApps Challenge. The government has rewarded cash prizes worth Rs 1 lakh each to three of the winners and Rs 50, 000 to each of the runners up of the event.

The new platform and prizes were distributed by J Satyanarayana, Secretary of Depeartment of Electronic & IT (Deity) on behalf of Communication and IT Minister, Kapil Sibal. Nasscom President R Chandrasekhar was also present in the event.
