The opening of Colt Data facility Services' first data facility in India was announced today by DCS. This flagship data centre, which is situated in Navi Mumbai, represents Colt DCS's entry into the expanding Indian data centre market, which is expected to reach 1.318 GW by 2024. Colt DCS hopes to satisfy the rising demand from large Indian businesses and hyperscale cloud service providers with this expansion.

India's demand for digital products has grown significantly in recent years, according an official statement from Colt DCS. India's expected need for data centre space would total 1.4 gigawatts (GW) by 2025, with Navi Mumbai serving as a significant site and housing half of the country's total data centre capacity.

Colt DCS claimed that its Navi Mumbai Data Centre, which has a sizable land parcel of 15 acres and the ability to host 120 megawatts (MW) of IT power, offers great flexibility and scalability. Colt DCS will be able to adapt to the rapidly changing technological trends and new use cases, including artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, machine learning, and data-intensive cloud applications, with the help of this facility.

According to the official statement, "We are now uniquely placed in the Mumbai market to address the demand of Hyperscale Cloud Service providers and large Enterprise particularly from Banking and Financial Services industry. The first phase of the Mumbai Data Centre has commenced with 22 MW and an available capacity of 18 MW of IT power capacity. Further, we have aggressive plans to expand into major cities across India to cater to growing market demand."

According to Colt DCS, the India Green Building Council's Green Data Centre awarded this project a "Platinum" Rating. The business also added that it gets all of its energy from renewable sources, supporting its efforts to uphold global environmental responsibility and helping clients achieve their sustainability objectives.
