Envisaging this increase in volume, Bengaluru-based CNB Technologies Pvt Ltd, a hardware-software product company focusing on shipping logistics industry, has developed a unique and cost effective solution, HAWK, to manage and plan a container yard in real time using their Internet of Things (IoT) platform.

The solution is used for managing the complete yard by recording all the activities happening inside a container yard in a fully automatic manner. There are no manual interventions in recording these data and this is why it is error free.

According to Rajesh Kumar, co-Founder and CEO of CNB Technologies, what differentiates CNB from the other market participants in the industry is its strategic position in the value chain, innovative power, extensive technology, understanding of domain and processes.

In the press release Kumar has further said, “As the market leaders in container yard management solutions, the company is delivering high-quality, smart and secure products to its customers worldwide. It aims to be the catalyst to solve the problems in the port and shipping industry using real-time information to make it more efficient, visible and safe.”

The clientele of the company, among others, include APM Terminals, Ameya Logistics, CMA CGM, Gateway Groups (Rail and Distriparks), ICD Loni, Hind Terminal and Balmer Lawrie.

About 95 percent of India’s trade volume (around70 per cent in terms of value) is moved by sea. Therefore, the container yards play a very dominant role in the economy. With Hawk S & Hawk E, the container location can be tracked in real time on kiosks, web app, mobile phones and tablets. The company says that it is also capable of giving information about long standing container’s location and offer a total container shifting history with productive and un-productive moves. It can also give one the real time trailer congestion in the yard and machine utilization information with 100 percent accuracy.
