Chinese app company APUS partners InMobi for India market

BENGALURU: India’s mobile advertising platform company, InMobi has signed a long-term partnership with Chinese app development company APUS Group. InMobi will share its expertise in India to help APUS establish a larger footprint in India, enabling an increased user base and market share. In return, APUS will engage in a monetization partnership with InMobi that will result in InMobi gaining access to more than 200 million additional users across the APUS user system, with exclusive access to all APUS users in India.

With five popular Android apps that span across launcher, browsers, booster, flashlight and a messaging centre in its portfolio, APUS is looking to make a significant foray into the Indian market that is expected to have more than 369 million smartphone users by 2018.

The release indicates that InMobi will provide local expertise to APUS to help them understand the unique Indian app market and will aid in user acquisition programs including providing guidance towards localizing the APUS app experience and acquiring the right talent to help APUS India grow as APUS aims to make its app climb to the top five in the local Google Play store. The collaboration is aimed at propelling APUS into becoming the leading Android user system in India by the end of 2015 and acquiring more than 80 million users in India by 2016.

APUS will also sign a global monetization partnership with InMobi. With 200 million users worldwide today, and 300 million expected by the end of 2015 and 500 million by the end of 2016, APUS will open its user base to InMobi to maximize and explore monetization together. InMobi will provide next-generation user data analysis system, combined with APUS’s user data platform and innovative user experience, to provide APUS a customized monetization strategy, to provide the best monetization performance and results. This is the first time APUS has established a worldwide monetization partnership.

Through a combination of InMobi’s various products including Miip, native ads and video ads, and APUS’s innovative user experience features, they intend to enable ad experiences that will provide the right mix of monetization with a beautiful, native, non-intrusive user experience.
