Chhattisgarh State introduces ‘Sanchar Kranti Yojana’ for its rural women

To digitally empower rural people in the state, primarily women, the Chhattisgarh Government has launched an ambitious ‘Sanchar Kranti Yojana’.  The project is aimed at improving telecom reach in the state and wide spreading the digital connect to the people of Chhattisgarh.  To achieve this goal the Government is establishing a strong telecom & internet network and also distributing 50 lakhs smartphones to identified beneficiaries in the State.  This would immensely contribute to the ‘Digital India’ mission of the nation.

“Smartphones are arguably the most empowering tool today for socio-economic uplift and since these phones will be distributed to women, it will also achieve women’s empowerment. This scheme will be a game changer”, said Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

The smartphones under ‘Sanchar Kranti Yojana’ would come pre-loaded with mobile applications which would be of citizen centric in nature and help them to access various Government Schemes at their fingertips. These applications would provide a seamless connect platform to the people of the state with the Government and access G2C services with ease.

‘For the people, by the people’ with this vision Chhattisgarh Government is inviting innovative minds to come along and extend their support to this initiative to develop Mobile Applications for these 50 Lakhs smartphones under ‘Sanchar Kranti Yojana’ the Government of Chhattisgarh.

The Chhattisgarh Government - CHiPS, in association with 36Inc, Internet and Mobile Association of India and Headstart, launched #SKYHack Challenge, which is an opportunity for the Developers, App Enthusiasts and other stakeholders of the ecosystem, to come forward and make positive differences to more than 50 lakhs families in the state.  #SKYHack Hackathon would provide platform to innovative minds to develop Mobile Applications for these 50 Lakhs smartphones.

The last date for registration is 28th July 2018.  Winners would get a chance to win prizes worth Rs. 20 lakhs and incubation support from IAMAI, Mobile10X and 36Inc.
