BSNL to be installed 2000 new mobile towers in Chhattisgarh: Ravi Shankar Prasad

NEW DELHI: India's Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that 35 new towers for Naxal areas have sanctioned while addressing the Press and media at Raipur with state Chief Minister Raman Singh on telecom roadmap of state.

In 2 years 2000 more towers will be installed by BSNL in entire state," he said while dedicating 146 BSNL towers to Naxal affected district of Chhatisgarh with state Chief Minister.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is an Indian state-owned telecommunications company.

"Due to BSNL's new initiatives we could connect these extremely inaccessible Naxal affected areas of Chhattisgarh," said Prasad on his social media account.

The telecom Minister has also dedicated Bharat Net services in Gram Panchayats of Balrampur district in Chhattisgarh.

"In the next one year 220 Public WiFi hotspots will be installed in Chhattisgarh by BSNL," he added.
