BSNL launches antitheft app- mSecure for subscribers

NEW DELHI: State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its anti-theft application (app)-mSecure that helps a user  to track, lock, activate alarm and erase the data on their mobile handsets remotely, in case of loss of device.

It also provides the complete call log details of the lost mobile at pre – determined intervals.

"The safety and security of the user data remains the top priority for service provider. In keeping with this commitment, BSNL’s new application acts as a deterrent to Smartphone thefts especially around festivals," a officially statement said.

mSecure advantages:

• Remote Locking: Remotely lock the user’s device. By default Gallery, SMS & device Settings will get locked automatically as soon as the SIM card is replaced.

• Remote Erase: Provides user an option to erase the lost device data (Contacts, SMS, Images, Videos, audios etc.)

• Remote Tracking: Helps a user to remotely track the lost device by sending location details through SMS to the emergency number.

• Remote Alarm: Helps a user to remotely raise an alarm on the lost / misplaced device.

• Lost Handset call logs: Provides complete call logs of the new number of the SIM that has been inserted in the lost device to the emergency number.

R.K.Mittal, Director (CM) BSNL Board stated that security of Mobile handsets has become a cause for concern owing to important data stored in it. MSecure is innovative service through which user can remotely manage data contained in his/her lost mobile handset.
